How to Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Theodor Geisel, otherwise known worldwide as "Dr. Seuss", has become one of the most celebratedauthors of children's books. The unique characters and creative rhyming stories mark him as one-of-a-kind. Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2nd.

Eat green eggs and ham. List all of the places where you would eat green eggs and ham.

Wear a shiny star on your stomach and act like a Sneetch.

Plant a tree like the character in The Lorax.

Recreate his characters with cardboard rolls, felt, pom poms, glitter, glue, pipe cleaners , or any other arts & crafts item to think of. Create your own story with the character you made.

Make a crossword puzzle with Dr. Seuss character names and book titles. Challenge yourself to another level and use lines and quotes from different books.

• If you want to draw characters or in his style of drawing, use flat and simple mediums. Examples include markers that are bold and vibrant in color.
• It's more fun to do activities with people that have an interest or love for Dr. Seuss's books. Include kids in these as much as possible.
