The urban gangster... The most original you can get! Lots of people want to be a "gangsta" for Halloween. It's a comfortable outfit and it's pretty fun! Also, any gender can be a male urban gangsta! But, how do you do it? Are you good enough to decorate yourself for Halloween? Read on to find out!
Look at real gangsters. Go to the most downtown part of your city/town. If you live near a big city , go there! There will probably be lots of "gangsters" for you to see. Don't stare ! Just get some ideas from them!
Go to a store that has gangster clothes. All " urban stores" should sell gangster clothes. Try searching on the internet. Remember that the clothes should be baggy, shiny, colourful and have very " graffiti " like designs on them.
Try on the clothes , make sure sure you like them and buy them! Your outfit should include jeans , a hoodie, a gangsta hat (Flat brimmed) and something under the hat (Like a skully) and maybe some jewelery. (Maybe a small necklace, a shiny bracelet, a ring or two etc.)
Put on all your clothing a night or two before Halloween and check for anything in your clothes relating to gangs. Try not to get bandanas coloured red or blue, as those are the colours of gangs (The bloods are red, the cripz are blue) and you may get shot/beat up if you wear gang colours. Now that's scary !. To look super awesome and gangster, buy a bandana with something Halloween style on it and put it in one of your back pockets. (They sell bandanas at the dollar store)
Put on your outfit , get your bags ready and get that candy!
Tips
- Walk/pose like a gangster. Normally when people try to walk like a gangsta, they walk with a bit of a "proud limp", looking down on people. Lots of people pose like a gangter by making hand signals and crouching down a bit.
- When you go to trick or treating say something along the lines of this - "Yo, wassup? Gimme some a dat candy, home-boy/girl!" That sounds really cool!
Warnings
- Don't do anything gang related.
- Don't stay out too long trick or treating. Being out past 9:30 pm is too late!
- Don't spend too much money on your costume.
- If you don't bring your friends trick or treating you may be in danger!
- Some people may take this costume the wrong way.
- Always get your parents permission before buying the costume, or going out for Halloween.
- If you are under the age of 10 you should trick or treat with an adult, or a big group of friends (3-10)
- Don't try to act tough around the wrong people.
